What do the West’s most preeminent philosophers say about life, the mind, justice, and politics? And how can we better understand today’s modern democracies through the insights of those esteemed thinkers who lived during the original, Athenian one? In this course, we will examine Plato’s Republic and selections from other texts about the ideas of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.
